IPL for Pigmentation
What it IPL?
A non-invasive treatment that erases skin damage without disruption of the skin's surface, hence, no "downtime". Intense Pulsed Light can simultaneously treat a wide range of facial concerns effectively and safety.
Indications
Procedure Dermatologist will start by applying a cold gel to the treated area and dark glasses will be given to protect your eyes from the bright light. The smooth glass surface of the IPL hand piece is gently applied to your skin and pulses of light are applied. Treatment is generally administered in a series of procedures that provides excellent long-term results, minimal adverse effects and high satisfaction.
Expected result Generally 3 or more sessions are recommended. Different unwanted skin impurities are removed. Skin rejuvenation: More treatments lead to a smooth youthful looking skin. The result of an IPL cure may lasts for up to 5 years. (Depending on age and skin condition)
Precautions During treatment, you may feel a slight sting. An anesthetic cream maybe used, but is seldom required. The number of recommended treatments depends on the individual wishes and requirements. (Normally at least 5 sessions)
Q&A Are the IPL treatments safe?
Yes. Advanced light systems have been used safely for millions of treatments worldwide. These systems treat only the targeted tissues, leaving the surrounding tissue intact. However, some bruising or redness may occur.
What results can you expect?
After the first treatment, your skin will have a more even tone with a smoother look and feel. Sunspots will fade. Pore sizes will shrink. Fine lines and wrinkles will gradually decrease in size. These improvements will steadily increase with each treatment.
What will recovery be like?
Post-operative discomfort is almost nonexistent. After treatment the treated skin may appear a little flushed and capillaries may seem to be more visible. The flushed look soon fades away, and the capillaries appear to vanish, leaving the skin looking younger. It's that simple.
